Institute for Science and Ethics
Science & Ethics synergies for responsible innovations
About us
The Institute for Science and Ethics supports and accompanies private or academic organizations to develop ethical approaches and frameworks, to help forming value-based collaborations and allows to better assess and monitor any innovation products or concepts.
This is based on solid collaboration with our experts: scientists in the marine and health sectors, experts in IT and digitalization, philosopher and social scientists.
The institute offers also the development of communication strategies towards policy makers and various stakeholders in science.
Applied Ethics -Through reflection and implementation of methodologies, the Institute provides solutions to minimize risks linked to any innovative projects.
Diagnostic of innovation impact
-
…to identify the main potential short-term or long-term impact of the development of new technologies on human health, the environment, protection of the person and geo-politics.
Identification of legal framework
-
…when innovations do not fall into specific legislation but are linked to several existing regulations at national and European levels.
Ideation
-
…this creative process, co-designed with the main interested party, aims at producing and communicating new ideas to develop methodologies to overcome the ethical challenges.
Implementation
-
…of the methodologies which include specific actions to ensure the protection of persons, to minimize the impact on the environment / human health. Where severe ethical issues, Ethical committees can be implemented in correlation with the sector of interest.
